Less carbon. Proven concrete performance.

ECOPact® helps our customers reduce the carbon footprint of buildings, infrastructure and homes to build better with less and support decarbonisation across construction.

ECOPact is Holcim’s low-carbon concrete range, designed to help reduce embodied carbon while maintaining the strength, durability and reliability modern construction demands.

With ECOPact, projects can achieve at least a 30% reduction in embodied carbon compared to ordinary Portland cement concrete1

Through innovative mix design and the use of supplementary cementitious materials, ECOPact provides a practical way to lower embodied carbon without compromising performance, quality or workability.

From homes and commercial buildings to infrastructure and broader project applications, ECOPact helps customers make more sustainable concrete choices with confidence.

Embodied Carbon Reduction

ECOPact offers a minimum 30% reduction in embodied carbon1 compared to Ordinary Portland cement concrete. This can help reduce the carbon footprint of building and infrastructure construction projects.

A product-specific EPD will be registered with EPD Australasia2. EPDs provide transparent information about the environmental impact including embodied carbon of the concrete, enabling informed decision-making during project planning and design stages.

Science-Based Emissions Reduction Targets

Holcim has committed to science-based emissions reduction targets for 2030 and 2050, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)4. These global targets help ensure that Holcim's operations align with international efforts to mitigate climate change and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Notes

1. Reduction in embodied carbon in comparison to Australian Life Cycle Inventory (AusLCI) database value for an ordinary Portland cement ready-mix concrete (i.e. no innovation or use of supplementary cementitious materials).

2. Holcim EPDs registered with EPD Australasia are available on the EPD Australasia website. Please note that ECOPact EPD registration may not be finalised at the time of supply.

3. More information on the GreenTag PHD™ is available on the Global Green Tag website. Please note that decorative concrete ingredients such as white cement, off-white cement, pigments and oxides are not included in the scope of the PHD assessment. Please refer to the PHD for further details of the specific materials included in the assessment.

4. More information on Holcim’s targets is available on the SBTi target dashboard. Enter “Holcim Ltd” in the filter to view Holcim’s targets and commitments.
