Supply Chain Manager
Head Office - Christchurch
Initially I joined the company in 2001 to develop our Holcim New Zealand intranet. A year later I was appointed to the role of Internet Projects Manager. In 2004 I was seconded to the position of Logistics Analyst / Project Manager for our cement division, and the following year became Supply Chain Specialist. Since the beginning of 2009 I've been Supply Chain Manager.
The work is interesting, challenging and rewarding. There are always chances for development through training, and opportunities to move into different roles either through change in position or project involvement. Along the way I have been fortunate to manage a number of cross divisional projects, including Occupational Health & Safety improvement strategies, as well as deal with some very challenging situations in cement supply.
For me, moving from IT based roles to cement supply chain roles is evidence that Holcim supports career progression and development opportunities. Attending a two week management seminar in Switzerland was a fantastic learning and network opportunity that has improved my skills in a range of areas.
The Holcim culture is very supportive and caring.
