How we make cement
Cement
Cement is typically a grey powder. It acts as the binding agent when mixed with sand, gravel, or crushed stone and water to make concrete.
Our current cement plant at Westport uses older wet process technology to manufacture cement.
A new plant at Weston would use newer dry process technology. A modern dry process plant uses approximately half the energy of a wet process plant.
