Scholarships

Holcim New Zealand has built on the success of educational scholarships it has offered in the Buller area for more than 25 years. Since 2009 we have extended scholarship opportunities to several other communities in which we operate:

Buller district
Hastings
Franklin district

In each of these communities a Holcim scholarship will be made available, which offers $2,000 per annum (maximum of 4 years) towards tertiary study costs plus paid work at the relevant Holcim site during the holidays for the duration of the scholarship.

Scholarship criteria

Applicants with a connection to one of these communities will be preferred (eg. born, attended school, parents/ family living in the area)
Preference will be given to applicants whose tertiary studies are relevant to Holcim (eg. science, mining, manufacturing, engineering).
Short-listed applicants will be asked to attend one or more interviews with Holcim representatives.

Scholarship timeline

Applications for 2011 scholarships open on 9th August 2010.
Applications close on 17th September 2010.

Scholars may be named on our website, in publications, and/or in related publicity.
