Developing and maintaining strong relationship with our stakeholders is vital to the success of our business. We are committed to a continuous process of listening to, and learning from, people and organisations engaged with our operations throughout New Zealand.
At a number of our sites community and Holcim representatives meet regularly through our Community Liaison Groups. These groups enhance our understanding of community concerns and expectations, and at the same time provide an opportunity to communicate about company operations and initiatives. Working cooperatively has also resulted in a number of projects of local benefit.
Early engagement with our stakeholders is also a priority where new developments are being considered. An example of this is the extensive programme of communication and consultation being carried out in relation to our proposed new cement plant at Weston, near Oamaru.
